This is a great opportunity to visit with the Board members and express your ideas. Please cast your ballot for the Board of Directors terms listed below. Miniatures in Mariposa
Sponsored by the Northern California Society of Arts in Miniatures and Sierra Artists Gallery, Miniature entries must be received by February 29, 2008. This remarkable exhibit displays artwork from all over the world! Artwork image size is 25 square inches or less. The 1/6th rule is applied when entries are juried. Sculptures may not exceed 6”x6”x6”. For entry forms, please visit the Mariposa County Arts Council or Sierra Artists Gallery which is located at the corner of Hwy 140 and 6th Street.

Rotary Fine Art and Wine Festival
The Festival will be on Saturday, May 30, 2008 from 11;00 am to 6:00 pm at the Mariposa Courthouse. The show will be a festival occasion bringing art and wine together in a beautiful setting. To participate in this show, please pick-up an entry application at the Mariposa County Arts Council Monday-Friday from 9:00 am –5:00 pm.

CALL TO ARTISTS: Inaugural “Reigning Cats and Dogs” Art Exhibition and Regional Competition
Larry E. Reider Gallery: April 3, 2008 – July 3, 2008. This is a juried visual art exhibit which will open at the Arts Council of Kern (ACK) on Thursday, April 3rd. The event is jointly sponsored by the Arts Council of Kern and the Bakersfield SPCA. All art must have either a cat or a dog in the work. The exhibit is open to all original visual media (including sculpture, painting, photography, drawing, textile, etc.) with a $15 entrance fee per piece, with a maximum of three (3) pieces submitted. Cash prizes will be awarded in various categories. Light appetizers will be served at the opening. Sierra Heritage Joins Sierra Nevada Arts Alliance Online Calendar
The Sierra Nevada Arts Alliance announced January 25 that Sierra Heritage magazine is their newest partner for their online Sierra Nevada Events Calendar. The calendar was developed by PlacerArts of Auburn, CA. “Sierra Heritage’s mission aligns perfectly with that of PlacerArts and the Sierra Nevada Arts Alliance,” says Angela Tahti, Executive Director of PlacerArts. “This brings our vision of a Sierra Nevada range-wide calendar into focus.” The calendar is available at www.sierranevadaartsalliance.org and will shortly be added to Sierra Heritage’s website at sierraheritage.com.
